I believe in providing personalized care to each woman and her family. I respect every woman's choices and work with her to create a birth plan that aligns with her preferences and values. I also provide comprehensive education and support throughout the pregnancy and postpartum period.
I have been a support person for 23 births and counting. I really encourage good eating habits early on and being an active participant during the labor process. There is no one way to make labor happen or rush it along. A woman should feel at ease doing whatever it is that makes her feel comfortable (within reason). I discuss with my clients what I am and am not comfortable doing. It is essential that we are both on the same page. Occasionally, there is a time for medical interventions, however, I believe with the proper education and support system, most women can naturally progress through through labor without them. I provide support when the goal is to avoid interventions as well as provide support should one become necessary. I am not an advocate for or against medicine. I am here for you, to assist you in making educated decisions.
